Obtaining A Library Card

Library cards are free to all residents of Georgia and are valid for two years. Following the two year period, library card privileges may be renewed. Persons living outside Georgia may obtain a card for a $25.00 annual fee, payable at the time the card is issued. There is no minimum age for a child to obtain a library card.

To obtain a library card, applicants must complete and sign an application form, available at the circulation desk. Children under the age of 18 must also have a parent or guardian sign the application form. The parent or guardian is required to be physically present for the child to obtain a card. An applicant is required to provide a proper ID which includes a current address. Acceptable identification includes a valid driver’s license, a voter’s registration card, checks with a pre-printed address, a utility bill, a tax receipt, or a piece of mail that shows the user’s name and current address.
