Week 1: June 3 – 8, 2024 – Travel Adventures

Reading Takes You Places! We will read about world travels while we take a pretend flight trip with our storytime group and experience virtual reality with our 6 to 12 years old group. Our storytime readers are welcome to bring a small travel suitcase or bag to make the experience even more exciting.

Week 2: June 10 – 15, 2024 – Camping Adventures

Time to CAMP OUT with a Good Book! Come help set up a tent, make s’mores and tell camp stories. We will set up camp with both age groups. Children are encouraged to bring a small camp light or small sleeping bag.

Week 3: June 17- 22, 2024 – Safari Adventures

We’re WILD about READING! Get ready to learn about wild animlas by becoming safari and jungle explorers during storytime. Readers can come dressed like explorers with hats and binoculars. After reading about wild animal traits, our readers ages 6 to 12 will get wild and creative with 3-D art.

JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY

Peach Public Libraries will be closed Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in recognition of the Juneteenth Holiday. The Libraries will reopen Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 9:30am

1,000 Books B4 Kindergarten

1000 Books

Parents are encouraged to read 1,000 books with their children before age 5. This program is designed to be a fun and easy way to help your child develop pre-reading skills vital to kindergarten readiness.

Research shows a striking correlation between pre-reading skills and later academic success reaching into high school and beyond.

Parents and caregivers are a child’s first and best teacher. By sharing stories at home, you can give your child a valuable gift – a sense of confidence and a love for books and reading that can last a lifetime.
